California’s eight local Building Owners and Managers Associations are unified under BOMA California, to testify on legislative issues that affect the commercial real estate industry with greater authority. Up to five elected members of each local association serve on the BOMA California Board of Directors, and one elected officer from each association sits on BOMA California’s Executive Committee. This formula ensures that every BOMA member in California has a voice in the setting of policies of BOMA California.

BOMA monitors and lobbies pertinent legislative, regulatory and codes/standards issues. BOMA International Advocacy, Codes and Standards Division works with volunteer committees to develop policy positions on issues important to the commercial real estate industry, and BOMA International Government Affairs Committee handles federal policy issues. All advocacy-related committee meetings (with the exception of the Industry Defense Fund) are open to all BOMA members.

BOMA Orange County Political Action Committee (PAC) serves as BOMA’s local political fundraising vehicle to support the election efforts of members of the California legislature that exhibit support for the commercial real estate industry or hold a position with key influence over BOMA’s central initiatives.

BOMA Orange County Political Action Committee (PAC) improves the influence of the government on the commercial real estate industry. BOMA Orange County PAC operates: (1) to promote and strive for the improvement of government by encouraging and stimulating persons affiliated with BOMA to take a more active part in governmental affairs; (2) to encourage persons affiliated with BOMA to know and understand the nature and actions of the government, important political issues, and the records of office holders and candidates; and (3) to do what is necessary to appropriate to attain these purposes.
