Irvine CA 92614
Rich Bluth – Vice President, Energy Management, Irvine Company (bio)
The US EPA’s Energy Star program is the cornerstone of energy efficiency tracking for commercial office buildings across the nation. Mandatory statewide and local energy usage disclosure programs as well as the USGBC’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program rely on the Energy Star platform. This platform allows building owners to submit their energy data to meet regulatory requirements as well as benchmarking opportunities.
The lunchtime program will include a review of the structure of the Energy Star program including required data and opportunities for analysis. It will explain what Energy Star scores mean and identify ways that property managers can work with their engineering teams and consultants to improve their scores over time. It will review the regulatory requirements in California and recent changes to the program.
